YouTuber TJ Hunt gives James May cheeky jab after roasting his Ferrari

Popular YouTube star TJ Hunt has fired a shot back at James May after handing his stunning Ferrari 458 GT3 just a four out of 10 rating.

The Grand Tour co-host has been quite active on the video sharing platform of late, whether it be commenting on the real problems facing the electric car market or roasting content creators about the cars they choose to drive.

The Stradman, Adam LZ, Mr JWW and others had their cars featured in a video from DRIVETRIBE on March 8, where May was left with the simple task of sharing his verdict on each of them- and it’s fair to say that TJ Hunt wasn’t best pleased after seeing what James said about his car.

James May has had a lot to say about YouTubers’ cars of late.

For those who don’t know already, Hunt can often be seen sharing a number of different car related videos to his successful YouTube channel, which has over 1.66 million subscribers at the time of writing.

In an upload on March 10, the content creator took a C8 Corvette out for a spin, which included a speed run, donuts and much more, even taking a moment to show fans what May had said about his car – and chose to hit back with a tongue-in-cheek comment of his own.

He said: “Although he gave us a four out of ten on the looks, to be honest I didn’t think he was going to give a high score. He’s more of a purist and an older man – an old guy. He’s an old guy,” before adding that he was delighted by the 10/10 May gave him for effort on the project.

If you didn’t catch the original video (below), where May absolutely roasted a number of YouTubers’ cars, it’s fair to say that he had his doubts about the Ferrari 458 GT3 that Hunt owns.

He said: “It’s not a real GT3 racing car, as was. It’s a 458 Italian that he bought as, I believe, a bit of a wreck, and he’s put GT3 body parts on it like the front – they’re all pucker. The front, the chin, the wheels and so on. It’s very well done, not going to deny that, but I think it’s a little bit flashy because it’s not actually true.”

“It’s a little bit like reproduction furniture or vegan cheese,” he continued. “Also mate, you’re going to knock the front off in about 10 minutes and that spoiler on the back is a little bit outré.”

May gave him 10/10 for effort, but just 4/10 for the taste – clearly not exactly what Hunt wanted to hear. Whether or not we see these two feature in future videos together remains to be seen, although James does appear to be interested in the YouTubers projects.

We wouldn’t be surprised if even more content creators pick up on his roasts in the near future, so make sure to keep an eye on what could be a steadily ensuing “beef” for May vs YouTubers.
