Table of Contents
The first big update of 2022 is here for Teamfight Tactics with TFT patch 12.4 marking the launch of Neon Nights. The Mid-Set update for TFT Set 6.5 includes more than 20 new champions and traits, a host of new cosmetics, and some quality of life changes.
It’s time to celebrate the new year in style with TFT’s latest Mid-Set expansion, Neon Nights. Coming to Gizmos & Gadgets in TFT patch 12.4, the Set 6.5 update is the biggest yet with over a third of the champion roster changing.
That’s not all though. New cosmetics, quality of life changes, and balance changes to the surviving cast have also been shipped as part of TFT patch 12.4.

What’s in TFT patch 12.4?
TFT patch 12.4b nerfs Sivir, Irelia, Silco, more
As always with new set launches, TFT game balance has been in a bit of a wild state to start Neon Nights. However, Riot is stamping down on a few of the major overachievers in February 22’s TFT patch 12.4b.
The mid-patch update has locked onto a few champions in particular: four-cost carries Irelia, Sivir, and Renata Glasc are all being nerfed after dominating the meta. Support-wise, Silco is getting toned back with nerfs to his Mastermind mana bonus and spell bonuses.
Early game Bruiser duo Rek’Sai and Sejuani will be a little less oppressive following their own changes. Vex is the only champion being buffed in b-patch though with reduced mana costs incoming.
Sometimes, B-patches come early, like today, like right now, because, well, you're welcome.

Neon Nights launch: New champions and traits
As with every Mid-Set release, Neon Nights will feature a refresh of the TFT Set 6 champions and traits roster. It’s the biggest one yet, with Riot replacing 21 units and five traits with new options.
Five champions will be making their TFT debut, including the newly released Zeri and Renata Glasc as well as Arcane antagonist Silco. Corki and Alistar will also be making their first TFT appearance alongside reprints of Ahri, Draven, Morgana, and more.
Silco is TFT’s first champion from outside of League of Legends.Traits-wise, Academy and Imperial are out, with Debonair and Hextech taking their place. Mastermind, Rival, and Striker also join the roster. You can find the full list of champion and trait changes coming to Neon Nights in our hub.
This is on top of more than 80 new Hextech Augments too, which will diversify the range that already exists in the game.
Riot adds in-client scouting feature inspired by Blitz
Scouting tools like Blitz were once controversial in the TFT space, giving players easy-to-track information about their upcoming opponents. Some labeled it cheating, but Riot instead chose to embrace it.
The developers have added it to the game – instead of requiring a third-party app – tracking which opponents you are yet to fight that Stage. This is alongside the new Future Sight Augment which highlights the exact combat you’re coming up against next.

“We’ve wanted this since seeing it in other apps to help us focus on the things that matter: rolling down, scouting, and not pivoting,” the developers said on Twitter.
Coming patch 12.4, you'll be able to see what foes you've yet to fight this stage, with a cute little icon alluding to their imminent destruction!

New battle pass and Tacticians coming for TFT Set 6.5
It wouldn’t be a new TFT release if there weren’t new cosmetics. In TFT patch 12.4, a new battle pass — Gizmos & Gadgets Pass II — will launch, along with new Tacticians that live up to the Neon Nights theme.
Abyssia is a new Tactician archetype completely, coming to TFT with a Project-inspired high-tech theme. A new Plant Buddy Sprite will be bundled into the battle pass, as well as new Fenroar, QiQi, and Lightcharger variants.
