Wondering if it’s possible to get free Remote Raid Passes in Pokemon Go? We’ve got all the information you need on scoring this highly sought-after item in June 2022.

First added to Pokemon Go in 2020, Remote Raid Passes expanded the game’s popular Raid feature by allowing players to team up with other Trainers around the world to take part in 5-star Raid Battles.

Even locally, players can combine Remote Raid Passes with the ‘Nearby’ feature to join Raid Battles in their vicinity while staying in the comfort of their own homes.

Unfortunately, they aren’t given out easily like most items. For instance, you can’t get them in Gifts or from PokeStops. Below, we’ll detail the current methods of getting hold of Remote Raid Passes in Pokemon Go.

How to get Remote Raid Passes in Pokemon Go (June 2022)

Every Monday, players are able to redeem a bundle in the shop for 1 Poke Coin. In previous months, this included one free Remote Raid Pass alongside other useful items, which has been very helpful.

Unfortunately, as of May 23, 2022, there will no longer be a Remote Raid Pass in this bundle. The first bundle following this change included three Super Incubators and nothing else.

However, some Trainers have reported receiving a Remote Raid Pass in their Daily Free Box, though this should be taken with a pinch of salt and not relied upon to obtain these for free.

Research Breakthrough rewards

Free Remote Raid Passes cannot currently be obtained as Research Breakthrough rewards in June 2022. If this changes in the future, we’ll keep you posted.

These nifty items will help you partake in raids nearby, no matter where you are!

What are Remote Raid Passes in Pokemon Go?

Remote Raid Passes in Pokemon Go allow you to join Raids on the Nearby screen from your current location, removing the need to travel to take part in them.

They can also be used to join Raid Battles around the world when another Trainer invites you. You’ll need to be friends with a Trainer before you can join in with their Raids.

By collecting these passes, you’re able to dive right into raids and even potentially encounter a Legendary Pokemon!

How to use a Remote Raid Pass

Using the passes is relatively easy. First, you’ll need to access the Nearby screen:

  • From the main game screen, look to the bottom right-hand side.
  • You’ll see a pair of binoculars. Under that is a bar with silhouetted ‘mon – select that.
  • From there, a tab will open. At the top, you’ll see ‘Raid‘.
  • Select an ongoing raid that you’d like to join.
  • If you have any passes, click the big pink ‘Battle‘ button – a number next to it will display how many passes you have.
  • Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to partake in the remote Raid Battle and work towards catching that next cool ‘mon on your list.

The popular item can be bought in the Pokemon Go Shop.

How much are Remote Raid Passes in Pokemon Go Shop?

Currently, the only other method for collecting Remote Raid Passes is by purchasing them from the Pokemon Go in-game shop.

Trainers can buy 1 pass for 100 PokeCoins or a bundle of three for 300 PokeCoins. This is an increase from the previous price of 250 PokeCoins, which means you’re no longer saving money with the bundle.

While these PokeCoins can be purchased with real-life money, you can also save them up over time as you play.

How to get more Remote Raid Passes

If you’re looking for other methods to get the passes, there’s another available option for Trainers with lots of Gyms in their local area:

    • Drive around your area and take control of all the available Gyms.
    • Leave a Pokemon behind once you’ve taken over the gym to defend it.
    • For every hour that a Pokemon defends a gym, you’ll earn 6 PokeCoins.

While earning PokeCoins with this method is indeed viable, it’s worth noting that the rate for this is relatively low, as you cannot earn more than 50 coins in a 24-hour period.

If you do this a lot over a long period of time, though, you’ll earn enough to be able to exchange your hard-earned coins for Remote Raid Passes in the shop to top you up.

So, there you have it. All you need to know about obtaining free Remote Raid Passes in June 2022.
