Gothalian, Ninja, DrLupo and More Help Guardian Con Raise $2.7 Million for Charity

The annual charity stream for Guardian Con has set a new personal record for fundraising, bringing in $2.7 million for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Guardian Con recruited a number of top Twitch streamers to play during the event that was hosted by Gothalian, ProfessorBroman, Kmagic101 and OmniWaffle.

The streaming talent included KingRichard, Ninja, DrLupo and Mr. Fruit. A large chunk of the money was raised by Ninja, who received a single donation of $100,000.
Guardian Con is a two day gaming convention in Tampa, Florida, however it is preceded by a week long charity fundraiser.

The event started in 2016 and raised $564,000 for St. Jude. The following year was an even bigger success with $1.35 million raised in 2017.
Guardian Con set a goal of 2.4 million for 2018, which they exceeded.
The organizers of the event note that the daily operating cost of the St Jude Children’s Hospital is 2.4 million dollars.

Ninja is planning on a return for the 2019 Guardian Con, shooting for a goal of 3 million dollars next year.
