The Steam deck finally arrived on February 25, 2022, but can you play Apex Legends on the powerful handheld console?

Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royale games in the genre and is available to play on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles.

Although this means it’s possible to play the title on nearly every platform available, it did take the devs a long time to release the game on Switch.

As a result, since Valve launched the Steam Deck on February 25, a lot of Apex fans are wondering whether they can battle in the Outlands on the new device.

The Steam Deck is set to release on February 25.

Is Apex Legends playable on the Steam Deck?

The main concern around Apex Legends on the Steam Deck revolved around the Easy Anti-Cheat software and whether the device would be compatible with EAC.

Well, an update from Valve on January 21 confirmed that the Steam Deck will support titles that use EAC and put to bed any worries about competitive FPS titles not working at release.

Despite this, it was only on February 25 when players received their devices that it was confirmed that Apex Legends is compatible and available to play on the Steam Deck.

As shown in Cary Golomb’s Twitter post above, it seems as if the game is running extremely well on the device as well, so players can expect a solid frame rate while battling in the Outlands on the Steam Deck.

While the controls may not offer as much precision as mouse and keyboard or controller, it does give those who are constantly on the move a chance to jump into a match and may even encourage new handheld players to give Apex a try.
